Retiring Judge Urges Governor and JNC to Diversify the Bench

Written By: Admin1 - Sep• 11•13

Judge Allen of the Chattahoochee Circuit’s Superior Court wrote a memo to Governor Deal and the JNC urging that they not to appoint an all white bench upon his retirement on October 31, 2013.  Citing to population statistics in the county which indicate that African American compromise close to 50% of the population, Judge Allen makes a strong case why diversity on the bench is necessary for the public to have faith and confidence in the decisions rendered by the Court.  There has been no formal response by Governor Deal or the JNC.  You can read the full Fulton County Daily Report article here.  Judge Demands the Governor Not Create All
