Advocacy For Action has heard from many of you regarding your concern about the deal President Obama cut with the Georgia Republican Senators on the federal judgeships. President Obama has agreed to place a judge who voted against changing the Georgia Confederate battle flag and an attorney who advocated on behalf of the State of Georgia to uphold the voter ID suppression law on the federal court in LIFETIME positions. What can you do?

IT IS NOT TOO LATE to let your voice be heard. The nomination hearings for Georgia have not yet been scheduled. You can easily contact Senator Leahy, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee by calling his office at: (202) 224-7703 or sending him an email at to let him know that you oppose the deal. It is not over until it is over. We must continue to voice our objections to the process used to select these individuals as well as the qualifications of the individuals who will be JUDGES FOR LIFE. Your call or your email might be the just the one that makes the difference in the Committee refusing to confirm some of the nominees in the slate. Do it today, Do it now. It will take just a moment of your time. Simply say: “I oppose the process used to select the nominees and the qualifications of some of the nominees for the Georgia federal bench.”
If you want to find out when the nomination hearings will be held, they are will be posted online at:
