“Compromise” for Federal Court Judicial Appointments has only 1 African American on the list

Despite sustained and increased lobbying by African American community and bar leaders, the President is slated to nominate a group of lawyers and sitting judges for positions on the 11th circuit and Nothern District of Georgia courts based upon a  “compromise” reached between the Republican Senators and the White House.  However, the potential nominees include only 1 African American.  There is growing concern over diversity on the state and federal benches and the “compromise” is a testament to the validity of those concerns.  You can read the full article from the Fulton County Daily Report by clicking on the attached link.A Deal on the Table for Federal Judge Appointments
